Simulation/Visualization Panel
VirtECS® Scheduler contains a Simulation Panel that allows users to visualize the execution of the schedule. Traditional Gantt chart and material inventory plots provide an excellent way of displaying an optimized schedule, but because they provide only a static display they are not the ideal vehicle for visualizing the dynamic behavior of a process.
The Simulation Panel built into VirtECS® Scheduler provides a more intuitive view into process dynamics, it allows users to actually watch the schedule play out over time. Each processing or storage equipment is represented as an icon on the simulation panel. As the simulation runs, the vertical bar on the Gantt chart (representing current time) sweeps from left to right and the activities taking place on individual equipment are animated in the panel. Reactors indicate the name of the task being processed, the percent completion and the color assigned to task. Storage vessels indicate the name and color of the material in the vessel as well as the material inventory level at the current time.
