Contact: Steve Harding (765) 497-9969 January 2006 March 24, 2006 ADVANCED PROCESS COMBINATORICS DEVELOPS TRAINING TO SUPPORT VIRTECS® CAPACITY ANALYSIS TOOLS AT PROCTER & GAMBLE (Purdue Research Park, West Lafayette, Indiana) Advanced Process Combinatorics, Inc. (APC), developers of advanced planning, scheduling, and capacity analysis software, is conducting worldwide training for the Procter & Gamble Company in the use of its VirtECS® software system. The first class graduated in mid-January and the course is being offered several times throughout the year. P&G purchased a global license to use VirtECS® in 2000 and use has grown dramatically to help design plant modifications and perform detailed capacity analysis at P&G's most complex facilities. The internal training gives users from Asia, Europe, and the United States the opportunity to learn best practices and share strategies for applying VirtECS®. "VirtECS® allows us to package an enormous amount of capability and knowledge within tools that are as easy to use as a spreadsheet," says Dr. Steven Honkomp of P&G Healthcare Engineering. Honkomp continued, "VirtECS® takes care of complex interactions/constraints and uses best of breed technology and that allows our users to focus on strategy, develop intuition into why a decision is right, and allows P&G Engineering to package learning in a way that becomes a worldwide asset. This increased efficiency in our daily work gives us more time to focus on delivering new products that meet the needs of the world's consumers."The VirtECS® system is an innovative approach to automated scheduling and capacity analysis that delivers accurate results that satisfy demanding process constraints, optimize business objectives and maximize throughput. Its proprietary engine can handle complex processes well beyond the ability of other technologies. "VirtECS® provides capabilities that allow engineers and production managers to understand the real impact of complicated changes and to optimize strategies. The combination of realism, ease of use, and ability to respond rapidly to change is an unprecedented development." explained Dr. Stephen Harding, Vice President of Engineering at APC. "P&G has been aggressive in exploiting these new capabilities." About Advanced Process Combinatorics, Inc.APC is headquartered in the Purdue Technology Center, West Lafayette, IN. APC sells and supports the VirtECS® System to help users get the most out of their processes in a world of rapid product proliferation, increasing complexity, and a dynamic and competitive global economy.
